The Chew and Chelten Community Development Corporation (CDC) is honored to announce 'Yo, Put the Gun Down,' a poignant evening of spoken word and music at Dan Rodden Theater, La Salle University, on April 15, 2024. This event stands in the wake of a tragic drive-by shooting that claimed the lives of Laron 'LJ' Williams and three young members of the East Germantown community. The 'Yo, Put the Gun Down,' production hopes to raise awareness about gun violence in Philadelphia's youths and fund the establishment of the Laron “LJ” Williams Youth Center at 5652 Chew Avenue.
