Avalon High Heel Race

Athletic women and some guys (brave ones) wore high heels and raced to Raise Awareness for Ovarian Cancer in Avalon, NJ. Proceeds benefited The Melanie Finley Ovarian Cancer Foundation which provides education and direct financial assistance to young women afflicted with this disease. Runners were encouraged to dart off in style sporting heels of 3-inches or more to compete in a 50 & 100-yard dash for a chance to win prizes. (46 photos, photo credit: Jim McCoy)
